The EU just fined Microsoft $US 1.35bn for failing to comply with a previous anti-trust ruling. IMO – that seems a bit low for a company with oodles of cash (2007 NET income was $US 14bn and equity of over $US 30bn). I just don’t see how this will change Microsoft’s behavior. Still – Neelie [...]

As reported on slashdot, TimeWarner / RoadRunner have been redirecting mistyped / non-existent URLs to their own (pretty lame) search page. Why do this ? I have FileVault enabled on my MBP thinking it was a responsible way to protect work-related proprietary information from falling into the wrong hands; turns out it’s actually quite easy (for a dedicated hacker) to crack the password / key according the this CNET article.
