<description>I work at a software company that builds everything on Microsoft technologies. I introduce Java back in 2005 and got some people interested, but ultimately I have been and still am the only Java developer. They are in love with .NET, SQL Server, Windows 7, etc. and I don&#039;t think I will ever be able to persuade them to use other technologies. When I see some .NET APIs, for example encryption, and compare to Java I am a bit envious. .NET seems to have a cleaner APIs and evolves quicker than Java. I am still focusing on Java, but my fear is that Java developers will one day make the switch to .NET. Why does Java STILL not support serial ports and USB on Windows??? Java ME seems so antiquated, it can&#039;t compete with iPhone and Android anymore. Lets hope Sun/Oracle announces that Java FX 1.3 runs on Android and iPhone. In 2008 they showed demos of JavaFX on Android, and I saw a Sun presentation where they ran GlassFish v3 on iPhone. They could do it if they wanted to.</description>
